Smart by Simple Search Engine marketing Tips

While it may not sound like the best news you have ever heard, it is the truth: the success of your site is very dependent on how the finicky search engines feel about you. If your site is one of the search engines' favorites, it is in a position to be very successful. If, on the other hand, the search engines do not favor your website, it may be difficult to obtain the success that your content merits. Fortunately, search engines do not choose their favorites randomly (though it may seem like it when you check the results pages for your keywords). And a search engine marketing campaign can be very effective for getting on the "good side" of the search engines. Need some search engine marketing ideas and tips? Keep reading.

1. Use Article Marketing. One of the frequently used search engine marketing techniques is the submission of articles to article directories. There are several reasons for this. One is that writing and submitting articles does not cost you a thing (unless you pay a writer). And it is also one of the most useful search engine marketing techniques out there. Why is it so successful? It is simply because the articles that you submit will be content oriented for your keyword, making each article link relevant to your page or site. And we all know how much search engines love relevant incoming links.

2. Keep Your Content Updated. Updating your site's content is a hugely important part of any search engine marketing strategy... after all, Google loves fresh content. Create a schedule for adding content to your site, and stick to it.

3. Create Better Landing Pages. Sure, part of a landing page's job is to have visitors buy a product or earn you money through advertising... but landing pages are also important for search engine marketing. Because search engines pay attention to user behavior on your pages, having quality landing pages that keep visitors on your site is key to successful search engine marketing. If visitors click "back" to leave your site immediately, the search engines will begin to think something is wrong... and start to send your visitors elsewhere.

4. Keep Track of Search Engine News. Though not even the best search engine marketing firms know all the secrets behind Google's algorithms, the search engines do give ideas about what they look for in a site. Reading up on the new methods and criteria used for search engine rankings is an integral part of any search engine marketing campaign.

5. Make Everything Relevant. Incoming links are always good for search engine marketing. But the more relevant links you have coming into your site, and the more relevant keyword focused pages you have on your site, the better your search engine marketing results will be. Google and the others want to see that your website has tightly focused information on a specific topic, and that pages and links show a certain level of relevance. If your website and links are relevant and focused, your website will rank more highly, more quickly.
